At the C&W Offshore facility in Mount Pearl, the focus is on carbon steel fabrication. Utilizing the large fabrication hall, combined with 50 tons of lift capacity and an 8.5m wide x 7.3m high door, C&W can fabricate large modules inside in a controlled environment. For the Hebron project, C&W fabricated one particular module for the East Lifeboat Station, which was 16m long x 7.8m wide, and weighed 54,000 kg. This module had to be built in smaller sub-assemblies while in the shop, and final assembly was done at a height where it could be moved out of the fabrication shop and into the paint shop using a modular trailer. After paint was completed, this module was taken to Bay Bulls and joined to three other sub modules to make up the completed East Lifeboat Station.
