As part of Natural Resources Canada’s Oil and Gas Clean Tech Program, the Government of Canada is providing up to $10 million to the Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Centre in Calgary –  a state-of-the art research facility that will allow new technologies to be tested on a near-commercial scale.

The upstream oil and gas conservation and reclamation program supports the return of land used for oil and gas development to a productive state. Alberta requires operators of activities on specified land, including upstream oil and gas sites, must conserve and reclaim their sites to equivalent land capability. This means a reclaimed site will support a range of uses that is similar to what the site could have supported before it was disturbed.
